Ways to Volunteer
Volunteer in our Kitchen or Dining Room
Pack and Serve: Kitchen volunteers pack over 250 meals a day for delivery to our homebound clients and serve meals in our dining room. Kitchen volunteers also assist guests and keep our dining room and kitchen areas clean.
Time commitment: One day a week from 8am-1pm
*** Requirement needed: A food handler’s card is required to pack and serve meals
Dining Room: Volunteers at the reception desk greet guests, receive payment for lunch and assist guests if needed.
Time commitment: One day a week from 10:45am-1:00pm
Volunteer as a Driver and deliver meals
Delivering Meals: Volunteer drivers are needed each day to ensure that our homebound clients receive a hot meal and a wellness check. Drivers use their own vehicles and receive mileage reimbursement at .40 cents a mile. Routes vary anywhere from 8 to 30 miles, and the number of clients to deliver meals to varies between 10-15. In addition to delivering meals, drivers also provide a brief wellness check and enjoy a few minutes of conversation with those who are so inclined. For many of our clients this is their only daily outside contact.
Time commitment: One day a week from 9:45am-12:45pm
*** Requirements needed: A Level One fingerprint card and background check paid by volunteer
