About the Prescott Community Center

As the new home of the Adult Center of Prescott and Prescott Meals on Wheels, the Prescott Community Center is the new "Place to Play" for Prescott-area adults aged 18 & over. The Community Center offers nearly 21,000 square-feet of space for adult-oriented recreation, education. & entertainment including a ballroom/auditorium with a 4.000 ft. dance floor. In addition, the area surrounding the facility is slated to be developed by the City of Prescott into a 19-acre park with tennis and horseshoe courts, hiking trails. & other opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Although the Community Center was built by the City of Prescott, the City provides only minima! ongoing financial support. The day-to-day operation of the Center is the responsibility of the Adult Center and Meals on Wheels, both of which are tax-exempt 501c(3) charitable organizations. To enable continued service to needy Prescott residents. Meals on Wheels relies heavily on government grants and donations in addition to a small charge for meals served in its dining room. Funds for activities provided by the Adult Center come from membership dues, activity fees, rental fees, and contributions.

Prescott Library Microbranch

The Center also houses a rnicrobranch of the Prescott Public Library in its Community Lounge. In addition to four library computers, you'll find issues of the Prescott Courier, Arizona Republic, USA Today, and The Wall Street Journal as well as a number of other magazines and a puzzle & book exchange rack. Pickup service for books requested on-line is available 24 hours a day through the book lockers on the south side of the parking lot. A book drop outside the Center is emptied every day.
